Origins and a little about the people
The Humans of North Scotia have Norwegian and Scottish roots with the occasional North Scotian having Danish blood mixed in. They are generally friendly though they can be fairly suspicious of foreigners due to wars waged with neighboring nations within recent memory. North Scotia has a large and very strong military but prefers to stay out of most conflict until directly pulled into a war or if one of the origin countries has been threatened or unfairly attacked. The people of North Scotia are largely protective of their nation allies.

Races and Beings of North Scotia
High Elves:
This species of Elf has lived within North Scotia for many ages and has always been a part of the nation. They contribute often to the protection of the natural beauty of North Scotia and though relatively cautious compared to some other races of the Nation are easy to get along with once you have their trust. They mostly dwell deep within the lush forests of North Scotia and have made their homes in sturdy and breathtaking crystal structures built into cliff sides bordering the forests and forested valleys within the northern mountains. The farther south you go the less likely to spot one of these mysterious beings.
Humans:
Exactly when the humans of North Scotia came to the island nation is uncertain but it is guessed to be around the 10th and 11th century that they arrived due to numerous objects and items found all over the southern portion of the nation that indicate the time of the Viking age. It is estimated that humans stuck nearby to the Border Lands

About the Cairnardie
Origin
The man with blond hair smiles sadly as he leads you to a large hall.
"Moving to lighter topics. You wanted to know the origin and information about Cairnardies and I've rambled on long enough. You'll find the information you need in there, my guard spends his time inside here these days as the magic fails but he should be willing to tell you about our horses."
He nods to you and leaves you standing there alone as the stallion follows loyally behind him. You enter the hall and are greeted with intricate carvings of large horses in armor racing into battle on the side walls and on the far wall is carved an image of Zëndurin rearing in full armor.
A black haired man is leaning against the far wall, tattooed arms crossed and watching you enter the hall with blue eyes filled with sorrow. You walk up to him and he meets your gaze. He sighs but speaks.
"I assume Keran brought you here? I'll tell you about the Cairnardie but you must promise not

Unnamed elf oc
I was listening to a bunch of the Lord of the Rings elven music and ended up doodling a thing which turned into a new elven oc. I really love how it turned out but I have not yet decided a name for my new Elf. The character has fair skin with white hair and blue eyes, his role in his past places him balanced precariously between good and evil.

I appologize for the quality but this picture was from my phone in order to tilt it for the best view. I might make it digital but I don't know yet.

I have a vote on-going currently for possible names.

Geography and Weather

North Scotia is a large and very beautiful island nation. The nation is known for its many large and untouched lush forests, rolling hills, snow plains, and towering snowy mountains. It remains cool year round and the temperature is usually in the 60-75° range dipping into the 40-60° range in the winter months. Despite this, North Scotia has very predictable weather. The nation is known for having slightly cloudy days with misty rain but does get the occasional clear skies and warm sunlight. The mornings are particularly beautiful when the sunrise begins and the misty fog lingers over the valleys, hills, and lochs.

Villages and Major Cities

The villages of North Scotia are designed to be as little a disturbance of the natural environment as possible and as such are small and built into the landscape such as in the trees or built into hills like dens. North Scotia is a beautiful nation and to keep it so the people of the nation decided to have only three major cities and to add on to them whenever the need presented itself. The first of those three major cities is the capital of North Scotia, Dunmara. The second city is the city of stone embedded in the Ulani mountain range in the North district of Uis Island, Hollowhall. The third major city is the coastal fortress city, South Reach.

Military and Black Watch

The North Scotian military has several branches but the most famous of them is the countries unofficial military branch, The Black Watch. The Black Watch was created out of necessity at the very beginning of North Scotia's history as a country and has always been a large part of the country even if their part is not always known about. Though famous not much is known about the Black Watch. It is an unofficial branch because it isn't actively regulated by the government and does its job outside the actual military. Anything the Black Watch does the consequences of their actions fall solely on them to carry. The only person the Black Watch reports to is Lord Rayne and even he knows little about the Watch though admittedly more than anyone else in the world outside the members of the Watch.

The leader of the Watch is called the Paladin. The current Paladin's name is unknown despite a large reputation and many rumors and myths. Many of North Scotia's people and military known the Paladin as The North Raven, a myth generated as a result of the man's war history and tales of him being an omen of ill fortune and impending death for North Scotia's enemies. The Paladin is known to a ruthless and formidable man but is very loyal to his country and cares deeply about those under his command and the future of North Scotia, he often works together with the current top power in the government to ensure the safety of the nation through all subtle means possible.

The Council:

Lord Rayne- High Elf Lord, Council leader, and the “king” of North Scotia. All of the council report to him and his word is the law.

Lady Navaren- Human and ruler of South Reach and the Border Lands.

Greymane- Werewolf and ruler of Warren’s isle and it’s minor shadow island Lost Warren Isle.

Nightingale- Not much is known about Nightingale including their gender but they rule over the fringe island Iniam Island which is shrouded in fog and is a source of many haunting ghost tales.

Lord Balmoren- Human and ruler of Navaron Isle which used to be Navaren island and belonged to Lady Navaren’s family until it was gifted to Balmoren’s great grandfather for saving Lady Navaren’s grandmother.

Ironjaw- Draconoid and ruler of the chain islands simple named The Dragon’s Steps for the population of young dragonlings that make the isles their temporary home.

Humans:

Exactly when the humans of North Scotia came to the island nation is uncertain but it is guessed to be around the 10th and 11th century that they arrived due to numerous objects and items found all over the southern portion of the nation that indicate the time of the Viking age. It is estimated that humans stuck nearby to the Border Lands up until around the 13th or 14th century when they determined it was time to explore and see just what was on the island with them.

Arenians:

Arenians are said to be the result of the crossing of a Human and a water spirit, nobody is quite certain how Arenians actually came to be or what it was that made them. They appear mostly human but can be identified by pale hair color, blue eyes, fair skin, and lightly pointed ears.

The Arenian legend:

The tale goes that a young human woman was gathering rare healing plants that grew along the sides of the River Alba to bring back to her village and stumbled across a male water spirit heavily wounded by one of the wild animals that often hunted along the riverside for fish and other easy prey. The woman, torn between the plants her village needed and the wounded water spirit, saved the spirit’s life and in the process fell deeply in love with the gentle and handsome being. The water spirit decided to repay the woman who had saved him and at nightfall when the water rose higher on the riverbank he rose from the waters and trekked along the small stream that ran down past the village to the loch Ahren which was much nearer to the village and the source of their troubles. Due to years of ill-management the loch had grown over with water plants and the water turned muddy and bad for health, the Water spirit used his magic to cleanse the loch and restore it to a healthy source of water.

So surprised was the woman that she came to the loch to thank the water spirit. The spirit however turned to her and asked her for her hand. She was so grateful to the water spirit that had saved her whole village for one kindness displayed to him and so in love with the being that she accepted his offer. The water spirit took her and a small group of the villagers to a small island in the River Alba and every night he would come from the river and they would meet on the riverbank of the island. Time passed and the woman birthed a young baby boy that resembled a human but had the same light hair, clear blue eyes, and faintly pointed ears of a water spirit. The boy was given the name Mais and would grow up to become a handsome Arenian who would never age past or look older than his twenties and become the guardian of the two islands given his name.

Draconoid:

Draconoids are dragon and humanoid hybrids. They are mostly Human and Dragon crosses but very very rarely dragons may take an Elven, Arenian, or other humanoid being as a lover and these crosses will result in a humanoid that can take the form of a smaller dragon and may carry dragon traits such as light scaling, hard skin, fire magic, and very rarely wings.

Werewolf:

*The pages of the book regarding Werewolves are smudged and torn as if fought over, a splatter of faded red indicates it got out of hand*

“These pages will have to be re-written and not much is known about Werewolves as they are hard to find and incredibly wary of getting anywhere close to other beings. Our only clues on them are Greymane, one of our council members, but he says he’s no longer as true to nature as a wild-roaming Werewolf would be.” – Lord Rayne

Leivryen:

*These pages are blank but for a name and a quickly done sketch that’s hard to figure out. The sketch seems Humanoid but the figure has a set of dark shaded wings and appears to have what’s possibly long hair.*

“The Leivryen is extremely rare and we know practically nothing about them except that they seem to be angelic in appearance and have long hair and large black wings. The only thing we’ve seen like this is apparent in the Greymourne family of Aironheim Island and our two council members Alaistor and Alexia Greymourne. If not Leivryen’s themselves then perhaps they have some Leivryen blood in their ancestry as they both have long blonde hair and blue and green eyes. They report that members of the Greymourne family are all born with a pair of wings but every Greymourne childs wings are cropped at a young age and though they grow back with age they are no longer usable and simply stay folded or drag slightly behind and the limp black wings both carry are significant pointers to that Leivryen heritage.”
– Lord Rayne

An Added Note:

“Many other species remain without names or as of yet are undiscovered. A new creature is found every once in a while and will be added to the list as they are.” These words are written on a small card inserted behind the Leivryen entry in Lord Rayne’s scrolling handwriting. The words are writen quickly and seem to have an air of happiness as if Rayne was very excited while jotting down the note.
